Objectives

  • Ensure our students are able to Install, Configure, Upgrade, Maintain, and Troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Students will be able to return to the workplace and immediately be able to apply the skills learned in this class and improve their existing Microsoft SQL 2000 Server implementation or deploy a new SQL Server 2000 infrastructure.
  • Ensure students are successful in passing each Microsoft Certified Professional exam for Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

Course Layout
Classroom instruction is demanding,  8–10 hours daily, consisting of a combination of lectures, hands-on labs and exam preparation. Exam preparation is in the form of questions written by our staff of published authors. CDPC does not use ANY computer-based exam preparation. Our instructors do the teaching, not preparing from old exam.

The MCDBA/SQL MCP credential validates your ability to properly implement, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot a Microsoft SQL 2000 Server Enterprise Infrastructure. The MCDBA/SQL MCP credential further validates your abilities to be able to improve an existing Microsoft SQL Server 2000 deployment. Employers can reduce an organizations dependency on outside consulting services for maintaining and troubleshooting a Microsoft SQL 2000 infrastructure by employing Nexus trained MCDBA's.

Course Prerequisites
Prior to attending this course, all students should have a minimum of 6 months experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise edition or other Enterprise level database products. This course is not an introduction to database technologies. In addition to Enterprise level database experience, prospective students should also have 6 months experience managing a Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server environment.

Certification Prerequisites
There are NO Certification Prerequisites for this course; however, the MCSA and MCSE are highly recommended. Although there are no Certification Prerequisites, to obtain the Microsoft Certified Database Administrator Certification, candidates will also have to pass the following additional exams (the following exams are part of the CDPC MCSA/MCSA Bootcamp:

Core Networking Exams (1 Required)
70-215 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
OR
70-290 Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment
OR
70-291 Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure
And Elective Exams (1 Required)
70-216 Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure
OR
70-293 Planning and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure
